What is Supply Chain?

A supply chain involves various organisations, including suppliers, manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, and customers. It is an interconnected network of these organisations, along with the resources, processes, and activities required to produce and deliver goods or services to the final customer.

Supply chain management (SCM) involves coordinating and integrating the entire process of delivering products, from the sourcing of raw materials through manufacturers, wholesalers, and retailers, to the final customer. The aim of SCM is to ensure efficient delivery while minimising costs, improving service quality, and reducing CO₂ emissions.
